The HolzSchaBe project is a cross-border, bilateral project with partners from Vienna, Burgenland and Slovakia, which focuses on the development of building materials with a low-energy design. The project name stands for the building material wood chips-foam concrete (Holzhackschnitzel-Schaum-Beton). This building material should have excellent insulation properties and be used primarily for the construction of low energy houses in social housing projects on both sides of the border. The ground breaking aspect of this new building material is that all resources are renewable and available locally. The aim of the project is to further reduce of CO2 emissions and reduce energy costs in particular. Under the HolzSchaBe project, the following activities were performed:
